Ilija Zeković was born in 1920 in the village of Slatina in the vicinity of Andrijevica, died in 2000 in Igalo where he had lived since 1965. He completed secondary education in Berane. During the World War II he was a prisoner of war in Italy and participated in National Liberation Movement as a member of the First Proletarian Brigade. Until his retirement in 1965 he served in the Yugoslav National Army.
The legacy of Ilija Zeković contains exclusively serials, mainly daily papers published in Beograd and Podgorica. Large periodical material was continually collected, though in some annual files certain numbers are missing.
